Want to project from your iPad to be more mobile during class sessions?
Today’s Tip:
Screen mirroring with AppleTV in certain classrooms is the most efficient way to use your iPad for class presentations. It works for more than just lecture slides, too! Screen mirroring frees you up to move around the classroom, where you are more available to students and can monitor student understanding. Easier for you, better for students. Setup is extremely easy; see the steps below to learn how!
Note: Not all classrooms have AppleTVs installed yet, but they will be coming to all learning spaces in the next academic year. Look for “AppleTV” on the podiums in the classrooms you teach in to know if it’s set up in those spaces yet.
To get started:
- On the classroom podium, select AppleTV from the console.
- Look at the AirPlay prompt that is displayed on the monitor to find the ID for your classroom’s AppleTV.
- On your iPad, swipe down from the top right of your screen to access the Control Center. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
- Select the Screen Mirroring icon and select the ID of the AppleTV that is displayed on the monitor.
- Enter the 4-digit code that appears on the classroom monitor on your iPad and choose OK.
- Tap away from the Control Center to begin sharing content on your iPad’s screen.
To stop sharing:
- Swipe down from the top right corner of your iPad’s screen to access the Control Center again.
- Select the Screen Mirroring icon.
- Choose Stop Mirroring at the bottom of the list of AppleTV options.
