Trying to pull information from one source to another and need to copy and paste text? Looking to edit a section of text in something you’re working on?
Today’s Tip
Accessing the text options in whichever app you’re working from will allow you to select, cut, copy, paste, and more from one source to another.
Selecting Text
There are a few methods for selecting text on your iPad depending on the app you’re in:
- Access text options: Long hold the text with one finger.
- Select a word: Double tap with one finger on the word.
- Select a paragraph: Triple tap with one finger on the paragraph.
- Select a block of text: Long hold one of the words with one finger, then drag the blue slider bars to the beginning and end of the text.
Common Text Options
Each app will provide different text options based on its functionality, but some of the most common options users turn to include, but are not limited to, Cut, Copy, Paste, Replace, Formatting (bold, italics, underline), and More Options. These each function in the same way as they would on a computer. Try out the text options in the apps you commonly work with!
