Want to be able to set up and move around your iPad more efficiently?
Today’s Tip
Using your Gesture Controls allows you to move around your iPad, not only without the home button, but in such an efficient way that you can have most of what you need with one swipe. This is especially helpful for folks who have difficulty or get fatigued with fine motor movements.
Here are a few ways to start using your Gesture Controls:
- Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to go back to your Home Screen. This works in whatever app you’re currently using.
- Access the Control Center by swiping down from the top right edge of your screen. This gives you quick access to basic features, as well as your camera, volume, and screen recorder.
- Open the App Switcher by swiping up from the bottom edge of your screen, pausing for a moment, and then lifting your finger. You can swipe through all of your open apps this way, and tap on the one you want to open.
- To open your Dock when you’re inside an app, swipe up from the bottom edge and pause with your finger. The Dock will open, and you can choose another App to open.
- To Search your iPad for an app, swipe down from the top of the screen and start typing what you’re looking for.
