Penn State issued devices are named with a string of letters and numbers. Renaming your device will be extremely helpful in identifying your iPad in these scenarios. This will be an important step for sharing files with AirDrop. There are no official regulations on what to name your iPad, but “[YOUR NAME]’s iPad” is a good name for it.
How to Change Your iPad’s Name
You can change your device’s name fairly easily through your Settings:
- Go to the Settings app.
- Along the left hand side, select General.
- In the General menu, choose About.
- Tap the Name field and change the name to something identifiable to you.
- Select Done when you are finished.
This will save your device’s name for all future uses.
