When considering the use of Top Hat in your classes, it may be impactful to review what features it offers. While initially introduced as a polling platform for the University, our recent experiences with Top Hat have demonstrated that it can be leveraged as so much more. As you begin to gain familiarity with the platform, you may consider some of the lesser known features, interface with some colleagues about how they’ve been using it, or investigate the available OAER options in conjunction with OpenStax.
As you start your adventure with Top Hat, you may find the Top Hat Support Center page to be a valuable resource. Their knowledge base articles provide a deep dive into the many features of the platform and can easily supplement the Penn State Knowledge Base articles on Top Hat. Additionally, the locally-hosted Top Hat website on setting up some of the basic features in your sections.
