Do you need to connect your iPad to the Penn State wireless network? Are you wondering how to set up and use Bluetooth?
Today’s Tip 1: Wi-Fi
Students, faculty, and staff can connect to the PSU wireless network using their Penn State User ID and password. Connecting to the PSU wireless network offers more security than the psu-guest connection. Download and review the Setup a Wireless Connection step-by-step instructions, with screenshots, to install the PSU wireless profile to your iPad and connect.
Today’s Tip 2: Bluetooth
Using a Bluetooth connection, you can use third-party devices such as keyboards, AirPods, speakers, and more. While Bluetooth is not used for screen mirroring, it is required to utilize AirDrop, which allows you to send photos, documents, videos, websites, and more to other nearby devices (more about that in a later tip).
To enable Bluetooth:
- Go to your iPad Settings.
- From the left side menu, choose Bluetooth.
- Toggle the switch so that it is to the right and green.
Note: You can also enable and disable Bluetooth from your Control Center. More on that coming on August 21st!
To pair your iPad with a Bluetooth device:
- Go to your iPad Settings and choose Bluetooth. Enable if necessary.
- Once enabled, you will see a list of devices within range. Your iPad must be within 33 feet of the Bluetooth device.
- Tap the name of the device. The device should be identified as “Connected” once paired.
Note: To pair AirPods, see the instructions for your model in the “Pair and connect” section in the AirPods User Guide.
