Nathan Hollister

A double Penn State graduate, Nathan has worked with Penn State Altoona as an instructional designer since 2021. Before transitioning to higher education, he worked for 7.5 years as a middle school Spanish teacher. In his current work, Nathan has a particular interest in gamification principles, microlearning strategies, and adaptive learning practices in the educational setting.

Jen Wagner

Jen has always been passionate about STEM education. With interests spanning micro learning, innovation in STEM instruction, and Universal Design for Learning, she has used these skills in designing and teaching courses for a distance learning program, as well as auditing and retrofitting web and course content for major state organizations. Part of her role here at Altoona is to advise Commonwealth Campus instructional designers in how to make course content better designed for all learners.

Danielle Malone

Joining the Penn State Altoona team in 2021, Danielle brought over ten years of secondary and post-secondary classroom experience.  She has a vast background in multimedia, including broadcast and video production, and is the resident video editor on the current instructional design team. Danielle is passionate about the student experience, and is interested in working with other educators on making that experience as innovative and coherent as possible.
